The Water Method Man

Just finished The Water Method Man by John Irving. Okay, so I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. I didn't love it either. It's no Owen Meany. But if all I'm going to do is approach every Irving novel as a potential Owen Meany, well then I'm just begging to be disappointed. The main character, Trumper, had zero redeeming qualities, but it was a light read and Trumper's idiotic passiveness kept me turning the pages. It was kind of like watching a car crash. I couldn't look away.
